Kirsty works with a variety of sporting professionals, amateurs and recreational sporting enthusiasts by helping them overcome an unconscious phsycologogical focus toward aspects affecting their sports performance which they are often unaware of.
Anxiety is a common obstacle many athletes struggle to overcome and without the support of a professional psychologist, many suffer on an ongoing basis. Another frequent challenge for many is the tenancy to support an injured or previously injured part of their body by altering their technique and not realising the added pressure they are inflicting upon their body. This tends to result in additional injuries being incurred and a poor technique becoming ingrained.
Kirsty’s services were thoroughly appreciated by an amateur golfer in late 2014, when Kirsty was able to help her client overcome the fear of winning a golfing event. It might seem odd to those with no fear or win on a frequent basis, although for this particular individual, the prospect of winning was of great concern and it was of great hindrance upon his game and overall score.
Kirsty is employed by Boswells Academy once per month to work with their students currently undertaking the AASE programme. Kirsty works with the students closely and educates them of strategies and techniques that can be used to overcome anxiety when it strikes during an exam or at any point through the coursework based modules. Getting stuck and being unable to move forwards comes at a great cost to students and is often the reason many under perform during their exam. Since working with this years students, Kirsty has improved the results and performance of the class significantly. Most if not all students are on track to achieve results better than what they were forecast and have already fulfilled several of their non-curricular goals. Considering almost no students achieved their goals last year, progress has certainly been noted.
Unlike other sports performance coaches, Kirsty helps athletes identify the issues currently affecting their performance and educates them on how to tackle any such issues when they strike. At times the underlying issue is not all that obvious and in such an instance, Kirsty will work with you to identify the matter to then proceed onto both psycological and physical tests.
Once issues have been identified, Kirsty will provide you with strategies to overcome the matter on a long-term basis and techniques to tackle short-term challenges.
All training is undertaken at Kirsty’s modern offices based in Chelmsford, Essex. It is possible for Kirsty to visit you at your home or place of work, however, an additional travel fee is to be incurred and confirmed based upon location.
Sessions tend to last between 60/90 minutes and cost just £95 for dedicated professional training.
